Milk Link, News, News: Update on Farm Collections During Cold Weather

Milk Link would like to thank all those Members and direct suppliers who have gone out of their way to ensure tankers have been able to access farms during this prolonged period of cold weather. This has been most helpful in not only getting on farm but in keeping vehicle damage to a minimum.

Due to the continued inclement weather the number of calls to hauliers and Linkline is heavy so please be patient if your call is not answered straightaway. 

On a few occasions we have not been able to collect milk from farm but for some time we have recommended Members and direct suppliers take out insurance to cover against this eventuality. If you have disposed of milk and you are insured, please call the Linkline who will provide you with whatever information you require to make the claim. 

It should also be noted that milk collections are not permitted from plastic tanks or containers although a purpose built stainless steel tank with a proper cleaning system and ability to agitate is permissible.
